Feverfew

Feverfew is a perennial plant and a member of the daisy family. Although its name indicates the treatment of fevers, the flower is traditionally used as a herbal remedy for migraines, since it has similar properties to aspirin.

Sunflower (Greenburst)

Named for its green center, the greenburst sunflower is a large, pollenless perennial flower with a long vase life. It can grow up to a height of around 6 feet (182cm), with beautiful golden semi-double flower heads of around 6 inches (15cm).

Sunflower (Sunrich Orange)

One of the most popular varieties, the sunrich orange sunflower is easily recognized by its bright yellow-orange petals and large, dark brown center. A hybrid annual, it was one of the first flowers to be downy mildew resistant.

Sunflower (Lemon Queen)

A large pastel sunflower, the lemon queen is native to the Midwest area of the United States. It grows up to an impressive 6 feet (182cm) tall.

Pansy

The name of this annual hybrid is derived from the French word for ‘thought’ – pensée – and it is one of the most easily recognizable of flowers. It has symbolic significance throughout history, film and literature.

Aromatic Aster

 Native to eastern and central areas of the United States of America, and most commonly seen in hedgerows, this autumn flower is a great addition to any garden or bouquet. Contrary to its name, this type of aster is not at all fragrant.

Goldenrod

A member of the aster family, this perennial flower has edible leaves but it can cause an allergic reaction on the skin if handled improperly. Nevertheless, this yellow branching flower is considered good luck if found in the wild.

Stonecrop

Part of the sedum family, there are two groups of stonecrop, with one type growing tall on long stalks, while the other creeps along the ground. Both types yield colorful flowers, are easy to propagate and are very drought resistant.

Transfer the pattern onto the linen fabric. 2. Stitch the pattern following the key for the mistletoe (see Winter Foliage In FLOWERS CATEGORY : Mistletoe). 3. Once the stitching is complete, cut around the finished embroidery leaving a little less than 1in (2.5cm) of fabric all the way around. 4. Now cut a piece of wool felt to match the shape of the embroidered linen, making it just a little larger to allow for a felt ‘border’ all the way around the edge. Place the felt behind the linen. 5.
